I created this gray Beatles-inspired dress from Simplicity 7796 (1968). It looks great in pictures but not so great in person (sigh). One major issue: I just can’t get my stand-up collars to stand-up. They are literally a “let down.”

Love it. Have you tried a stiffer interfacing for the collar.
Looks like so beautiful – wow!
Lovely greetings from germany, Bettina
Part of the collar difficulty might be fabric choice. A lot of the late 60s and early 70s patterns were suitable for stable knits – the sort that have very little stretch and a lot of body.
In addition to experimenting with collar interfacing, you might want to experiment with the neckline interfacing – just to make sure there's sufficient stability/support to keep the collar upright.
That's a very cute pattern!
Where do you find all these fab patterns? I like the version with 2 buttons and the pocket too. The fit on this one looks great on you.
If a stiffer interfacing isn't working you could try reinforcing the front corners with a little feather boning, like the points of a man's dress shirt collar.
Absolutely love it and the high boots just put it over the top!
