Vintage Sewing

Another new member…

September 23, 2010

Hello all! I’m very excited to join you all here in blog-land. I’ve been sewing for myself for some years and make a lot (if not most) of my own clothes. I’m particularly enamored of vintage fashion from the mid-thirties through the early sixties. I’m also a historical re-enactor, focusing primarily on late 18th and early 19th century events, but slowly expanding my time frame. I’d be perfectly content to sew all the time, but graduate school prevents that at the moment (which might be saving me some from what could potentially become an unhealthy obsession). That said I have to get a lot of my sewing fixes vicariously and love seeing what other people are working on and being able to share ideas with people all over the world.

I’ve recently been working on a (self-indulgent) project documenting my own wardrobe everyday for one year. I’ve made it just over a month so far. Feel free to take a look at my blog here. I can’t wait to start contributing to this one!

I hope everyone has a nice weekend, and happy sewing!
