I made Butterick 5214 (a reissue from 1947) yesterday, from start to finish in time for an afternoon Independence Day BBQ! You can read about it at my blog, ShoesAndPie.

wow- i love it!! i bought this patter awhile back, now cant wait to make it!- it took you a day, so maybe there is hope i can do it in a week or two? LOVE the gloves:)

Tiger28, it was easy as pie! The dress itself is only a few pieces, with no tricky bits. NOTE: It's supposed to be lined with the same fabric, but I used solid white so the pattern wouldn't show through. Keep show-through in mind when you choose your fabric!

Of note: This dress has an on-seam POCKET! How can you not love it? :)

P.S. My boyfriend took one look at your pic and said, "She looks just like Yvonne Craig, Batgirl!" :>)

Batgirl!? Well, nothing wrong with that. Thank you, and thank him for me!
