Vintage Sewing

Simplicity 4298, Completion!

July 15, 2010

I am so excited to have completed this project in, for me, record time…two months! Yay! Please come visit me at my blog and check out the whole story (first time doing sleeves!).

Me in Newly Completed Dress!

I adore the fabric, love the fit, and most of all I didn’t have one hissy-fit during its construction!! I didn’t think the day would ever come when I wasn’t so frustrated and when I realized I really like sewing and wasn’t just pushing through a project to get it done.

Thanks to all for the months and posts of inspiration! Sew Retro always makes my day! Xoxoxo
  1. Wow! This is fantastic – good for you! And that vintage fabric really makes the dress.

I'll have to check out your blog. I haven't done any sewing in years and years because I used to get so frustrated. Maybe now with a little maturity under my belt, I ought to give it a shot again. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Wow!

I have to admit that I would never have attempted that dress in vintage barkcloth – waaaay too intimidating for me!

    Your dress is stunning.

  4. Beautiful dress! Well done. Nice to see the true retro length being used too…. rather than the usual shortened/moderized version so many feel the need to make.

  5. gorgeous!! I've been looking for a cute wiggle pattern, and this is lovely, great fabric and the fit is wonderful!
