Groovy Sixties Shift Dress: McCalls 7743

July 19, 2010

Hi Everyone!
I made this cute little shift dress from a 1965 McCall’s pattern, using vintage cotton and a vintage button.
Here’s the original pattern and fabric choice:
And here’s the finished dress! I love the open back detail, it adds a fun surprise when you turn around! Features like that make a simple dress a little more special.
More pictures and details on my blog here!

  1. My favorite kind of dress…high in front and cut out back. Jackie kennedy wore a lot of these in the 60's. Looks great on you!

  2. I LOVE it! The fabric and the back are adorable. Is this an actual retro pattern or just a remake. I have a lot of "retro" Butterick and Vogue patterns.
