Vintage Sewing

Pattern score!

June 3, 2010

On my bonus day off this week, I stopped in at a small antique mall on a whim and scored big with inexpensive vintage patterns from the 1940s through the 1970s!

Simplicity 1297
McCall's 6470
Advance 4888
Simplicity 1714
Simplicity 4438
Marian Martin 9279
Anne Adams 4651
Anne Adams 4766

Not bad for an unscheduled visit on a Tuesday! They’re all scanned in and in my vintage pattern library, too.

(Crossposted on my blog)

  1. Simplicity 4438 was THE required pattern for first time junior high home ec sewers in the late 50's. I remember making it up in a baby blue eyelet. Very easy pattern, but, by then I had already been sewing for several years. Oh…I am dating myself.

  2. Oh, I love the sundresses! (I'm also a little envious of how easy it is to find vintage patterns in the USA.)

  3. oh! i have the simplicity 4438 pattern, ive already made it twice- its soooo easy and looks so cute done!

  4. So green! What awesome finds! Have fun with your new patterns. Can't wait to see what you make with them.
