Butterick 6956- Halter top

June 18, 2010
I made view A out of a scrap of fabric left over from a dress.

I made this. It looks cute, but is terribly uncomfortable. The bust is loose and the waist is super snug. It is almost shaping me like a corset.

Oh well, live and learn. Many more pictures and info on the shorts on my blog here . Thanks in advance for any comments or feedback!

  1. For future reference: 1950's patterns were intended to be worn with girdles and with very structured brassieres, so they're often too tight in the waist and too big in the bust.

If it's not a difficult pattern, would it be a good one on which to practice alteration (according to your actual body measurements)?
