Hello! I had not sewn something vintage for a while – and then I saw the Pattern Review Vintage Pattern Contest and thought it would be a good reason to delve into my vintage patterns (not that I should need such a reason, but sometimes a little push is required).
I decided to sew Advance 3929, a 1945 frock pattern. Here’s how it turned out:
It reminds me of the dress my Grandma wore as her ‘going away’ outfit, although she tells me hers was green. The only photos of Grandma in her going away outfit are sepia, so I decided I’d like a sepia photo for Grandma to compare our outfits to!
I’ll admit, Grandma was not photographed swinging around a light pole in her going away outfit, but I had lots of fun nonetheless!
