Vintage Simplicity

March 19, 2010

I finally finished one of my vintage pattern projects! I’ve written more about it here, but I wanted to share the details with you all, too. I am a horrible photographer, pardon me.

Simplicity 8278, circa 1969
Size 14 – 36 bust (and I needed a little more)
Fabric – white linen/cotton blend at $3/yard – total cost $6 USD
Sash – Heather Ross octopus print/orange and white silk-like cotton

(One of the things I love about this pattern is the ability to make different sashes for different looks!)

Thanks for looking. Later this week I’ll be posting about a vintage maternity pattern I re-worked into a modern summer shirt. Can’t wait to share it, it’s adorable!

  1. Cute pattern! It looks like the size is right, but you could probably do a full bust adjustment on your pattern. There are lots of tutorials online that will show you how to do this so you can get a perfect fit.
