I am CarmencitaB. I collect and sew patterns from the 60’s and 70’s. I am self taught. I’ve been reading Sew Retro for a long time and just now got the moxy to contribute. On display is the ultimate 60’s dress, a Mondrian by Yves St-Laurent. The pattern is Vogue 1557, a prized possession. http://www.carmencitab.com

I had a dress like this in high school… in the 80's
I love the dress, a 50's girls myself but it's very hip.
That's my fave era, as well! I'm looking forward to seeing your posts – Maybe they will inspire me to get back into the sewing room!!!
I like the long length that you have sewn.
Thanks for the compliments, the long version is nice, but we can only walk with tiny ladylike steps with it. I might shorten them on of these days, so we can get more use out of it.
So cool! I've always wanted a Mondrian dress myself. 🙂
