Look what I scored this week! It’s complete with zipper, fabric and pattern. (All you needed to provide was a hook-and-eye set!) Looks to be late 50s, maybe early 60s? From Sears under their Fairloom label. How cute is it?

But….it’s a little too cute. I don’t know if I can bring myself to actually use it! trying to decide what to do….all suggestions welcome! See the back and read more about the dilemma over on my blog!
I suggest that you copy/make it using your own fabric and zipper.
But hey, its yours do what you want!

I have a similar skirt kit, although it's a different manufacturer. Fabric displayed, zipper, etc. is all the same… and I don't plan to use it. It serves as a decoration in my sewing annex where I keep all of my fabric and patterns.
Wow I love it! It's exactly what I need – I'm a beginner sewer 🙂

That is so cute, the kit and all! And no one ever used it. I think it's still a totally wearable look!
Thanks guys! I got a lot of feedback over at my blog and right now I'm planning to make a modern copy — then decide!
Just make it! Life is too short to save stuff….
If I happened on one of those, I'd place it in an honored spot over my sewing machine, as a reminder of the love of sewing. I have several vintage patterns, vintage sewing notions and so on that celebrate myself and the sewists that came before me.
Many institutions limit access to their online information. Making this information available will be an asset to all.
Hope you'll post a pix if you make it! Agree, you should copy the pattern and keep this one intact. LOVE your blog – my 1st visit….I should be sewing/filling orders. Instead, reading up on other inspirational blogs sharing the same passion!
Thanks for sharing.
