We are nearing the end of the cold weather here in Perth, so I thought I’d finish this project sooner than later.
This is c 1959 and was really easy to sew. I’ve made no alterations, although the picture on the pattern cover looks a lot shorter than when actually made up..I prefer a longer hem line anyway.
I’ve used a soft charcoal coloured suiting which has a slight fleck through it…lovely.

Alas, we're just getting our cold weather up here. Cute dress!
I love it!
Is that a dickie or a full shirt?
Thanks for your comments!…..It's actually just a plain shirt I bought from a chain store to go under the dress.
Very nice! I like the added length. Now I want a secretary dress!
It looks great! A pattern need not be fancy nor fussy in order to look fab.
This is just perfect Jenni! You did a great job ! I wouldn't have even notice the difference in length if you hadn't pointed it. Just fabulous!
Gosh it's timeless, isn't it! Gorgeous in its simplicity too.
p.s. Thanks so much for stopping by last week on my SITS feature day!
I have got to have one of these!
Dahling – that is just mahvelous! I LOVE IT!!!
Very nicely done! It looks longer because you don't wear the petticoat underskirt what pulls it up.
