Vintage Sewing

strange and ugly fabric

August 31, 2009

This is a vintage knit fabric I picked up for $3.00 for 3 meters at the Hobart C.W.A.(love your shop ladies!)

isn’t it ugly?! I thought they were planets…but apparently they are chinese vases and tree branches… graceful indeed.

Well it still looks “captain planet” inspired to me

stupid post sorry!

  1. I love that you hate it and yet still bought it. You and I obviously shop the same way – "MUST ACQUIRE…..MUST ACQUIRE…"

    ; )

  2. That certainly bizarre! The pattern reminds me of mold spoors growing in a petri dish ;P

Wishing you a beautiful Monday & week ahead!

  3. yeah I'd like to start getting into pattern design so I like being able to see the difference between good and bad…this is just bad bad.

  4. Wow. That is just so… so… um, yup. I must own up to a couple of fuglies too. So bad that you just have to have them!

  5. Wow, weird. What are you going to do with it? It is rather Captain-Plantet-ish. 😉 I think you might be able to do something cool with it…

  6. what do you have in mind? I don't have a clue… may be one of those tube necklaces…do you know the sort I mean? lotts of little fabric tubes alltogether?

  7. honestly, i think I would make a funky jacket and purse set. its very fun looking to me. and i think it would be great to quilt with as well.
