Welcome to the New Look Sew Retro!

June 1, 2009

We decided it was time to have a freshen up and move the furniture around a bit. We hope you all like it and that it gives you a nice framework to keep displaying those wonderful projects, keep ’em coming!

To launch our new look we will be running our first ever competition! The rules are very very simple, all you have to do is post about your completed project during the month of June. At the start of July I will use a random number generator to pick the winner (the first post will be number 1, second 2 etc etc). So if you’ve got something up your sleeve that you’ve been meaning to share now is the time to pull it out and get posting!

And we have a prize! Jen from Moms Patterns will be donating a $25 gift certificate for her store to the winner! We’ll be hearing more from Jen during the month.

Many thanks to Angela for donating her time and skills to designing and setting up the new site (she’s on holiday at the moment and took time out to do the launch!). Also thanks to Elaina for spending her time sorting out the sewers list which was a job I could just not contemplate taking on! Not forgetting our other helpers too who keep those invites going out and the site up to date and running smoothly.

Thanks to all you Sewers as well, without you there would be no Sew Retro! When I set up the site 3 years ago this month (HappyBirthday to us!) I had no idea that it would grow to the size it has. I am constantly amazed by the projects that are shared, the questions that are answered and the support shown. Sharing what we love is great to be a part of so please keep those posts coming and keep it Retro!

Happy sewing!

  2. Heya Dolly – I’m still in the process of setting the site up (you’re a bit of an early bird!) the new post button, and all others will be up and running in the next few minutes πŸ™‚

  3. This is really swell. Hey! Good Lookin’ You been cooking up something up for me. Oh Yeah!

Kudos to Anna for getting this going and hanging in with it; and kudos to the other creative hands that have joined in to help as Sew Retro grew so far beyond Anna’s dream.
