An "Olden-Day" Dress for Sylvie

June 4, 2009

I have almost completed construction on a darling little dress for my younger sister Sylvie (8).  Sylvie has been asking me for awhile to make her an “olden-day” dress, so we sat down together and picked out a pattern and fabric.  She helped pin the pattern and cut it out, and even did a little stitching!

All that needs to be done now is to sew on the buttons and make buttonholes.  Here is a picture of the dress so far (sorry, it’s a little blurry) and the pattern I used to make it.  I’ll post a picture of Sylvie wearing the dress once it is finished!

We bought this fabric at reproductionfabrics.com

Have a fantastic evening!  ~Bess

  1. Very cute! But I am a bit disturbed by the "adaptable for chubbies" language on the pattern envelope. I can't imagine any company calling a child a "chubby" today!
