Howdy! I finished a very adorable blouse today from an old DuBarry pattern (early/mid 1930’s):

I love the blouse !
Really love this blouse, very flattering on you. I’m not familiar with DuBarry patterns so I’ll certainly be following your progress with them.
That is such a great top, absolutely love it! Have had a fear of 30s patterns, but this and the lovely 30s dress by another sewer (sewist?) a few days ago on here, really make me want to try some out!
This looks lovely! I love the material you chose. Not only did you line it up perfectly but there is so much interesting details that you’ve done — like the front panel, waist line, sleeves and the flower. Well done!!!
Nathalie-
The 1930’s produced some of the most beautiful fashion designs and flattering styles! A really good place to look for 30’s patterns is the Vintage Pattern Library. The Vintage Pattern Library sells reproductions of original patterns from many an era, and they have a LOT of 1930’s patterns. They have an eBay store AND a website (vpll.org). You probably already know about VPL, but I get so excited about it that I have to tell everyone. Hehe.
Bessie, no I didn’t really know about the VPL. I vaguely remember going onto the site in the past, but because it’s called the ‘lending library’ and I live in the UK, I never explored further. I see they do sell patterns too though, so I shall be doing a whole lot of exploring in the near future! Many thanks for the info.
Guh-GOrGeOuS!
Oh, my gosh! This blouse is to die for. I love everything about it. If only I had that pattern.
